Tier List Hub

This hub collects Afterworld tier lists. Because the game is upcoming and no public build exists, every grade here is an argument about announced systems, not a patch bible. If a row cannot be sourced to the official site, Steam page, Dev Diary 1, or the Gamescom footage, it does not belong on a list.

Two lists are live:

  • Origins tier list — Shelterfolk, zealots, Traumas, and how those starts likely feel.
  • Playstyle tier list — migrant warband, law-state, remnant gambler, Ancient courtier, raider, co-op specialist.

Read the origins guide and how to play before you treat a letter grade as a plan. New players should still begin at getting started.

How we grade a game that is not out

S — The announced kit matches a fantasy Afterworld is clearly built to serve.
A — Strong fantasy, missing one public tool.
B — Playable as a story, likely awkward as a min-max.
C — Possible, but official copy spends little time on it.
D — Contradicts a published pillar; avoid until a diary saves it.

We do not grade weapons, because weapon tables do not exist. We do not grade secret origins. We do not copy fictional leak charts.

When Paradox names a third origin or a law that breaks a ranking, both child pages and this hub will move the row and date the change via the wiki’s fingerprint system. Follow updates so you see the diary that caused the move.

Why a tier list still helps

Announcement-week searchers type “best Afterworld origin” whether a build exists or not. A labeled opinion is safer than a vacuum filled by fake stats. These lists also cross-link the systems pages: a remnant-gambler grade is meaningless without the Ideas Tree, and an Ancient-courtier grade is meaningless without Ancient Tyrants.

If you hate tier lists, skip to settlements or the preview. If you want group rules for a future MP lobby, take the playstyle list to multiplayer and argue there.

Hardware is not a tier. It is TBC. Use system requirements. Wishlist discipline is not a tier either; it is the checklist. Official sources stay on links.

This hub will gain a “laws” list and a “victory path” list when those have enough named examples to rank without invention. Until then, two lists are enough, and they are honest about being early.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about Afterworld before launch.

Are these Afterworld tier lists based on a live game?

No. Afterworld is upcoming. Grades are sourced to announced systems. See the origins list for the method.

Will the lists change?

Yes, after each diary that names a system. Track them via updates.

Where is the unit or weapon tier list?

It does not exist yet. Use how to play instead of fake damage tables.

Which list should I open first?

The origins tier list if you think in CK3 starts, or the playstyle list if you think in victory fantasies.
